Hello,

I have another issue with my domino 700.

It has recently returned from a warranty repair. There was an electrical fault, that is the extent of my knowledge on that at the moment.

So the day after it came back from the repair shop i hastily put it to work cutting some holes for a hardwood floating shelf.

It started well, cutting through at ease. But after 6 to 8 i felt a sudden loss of power and it cut out. So i stopped checked the cutter  tip it seemed ok, so i tried again and the same thing happened. I changed the timber for a piece of softwood which it did manage to cut through without stopping but it really struggled.

Has anyone experienced this?

It was plugged into my CT midi with cyclone seperator

The machine is 6 months old. The cutter has been used on around 200 holes, all in hardwood.

Have i got a bad batch? I dont know if i put it in for repair again or if im using it wrong somehow

cheers

Have you tried powering it from a separate socket to just isolate if it's a pass through issue with the CT?

Thanks for the reply.

I tried that and the tool turned on as normal, then slowed down then sped back up again and did not have the power to cut a full depth mortice (35mm deep x 12mm). It cut out and stalled. I repeated the same process again twice.

I then changed to a different plug it cable, and the tool still struggled.

My next thought is to get a new blade and try that before handing it back over to Festool. any other ideas?

If you've cleaned the pot and it's still doing it, I would say if it's hunting like that the pot needs replacing or it's possibly the control board. I did have the exact same issue with my AP55 circular saw, the pot contacts weren't clean and making contact sporadically, I found if I put pressure on the dial it would work fine.

If you've done all you can probably time to send it in. Even if it costs a bit to get fixed, it's still a good tool and worth it I reckon.
