I'm wondering what the differences  between standard and gb versions

I think GB stands for Great Britain, meaning the tool come with a UK specific plug.

The GB is marketed as not for sale in the US.  I think it was tagged as 50HZ but some people remove the plug and change it to a US version and use it in the USA.
