Well, it was a good sale and a good long run. Thanks for those placing their orders with me and  hope those that received the tools are putting the tool to wood and those that are waiting on the back orders, thanks for your patience.

Bob

Bob, I appreciate that you update your website with  ETAs on backordered items.

Bob,
FYI: I received the Festool packet that advertised the Domino sale with your information on it on the first, one day after the sale ended.  I was fully aware of the sale, so it did not effect me, but it would appear to be a complete waste of your advertising budget.

I got mine on June 30th [laughing]

Me too! What fantastic timing.... though you probably had to be well under a rock to not know about a 2 month sale that was heavily advertised online!

I want to make sure there's a balance between making sure folks hear about the promos online and not being spammy. Was the online advertising too much? I appreciate the feedback. We've had feedback in the past that people don't hear about promos until they are expired.

Also, I'll pass along info about the timing on the mailing.

I didn't find it spammy at all.  I recall Shane's first post before it started, a couple of dealer specific posts, and maybe the header image.  These all seemed straightfoward and informational.  I don't think it was too much.

There were a good deal of user posts about dominos, so obviously people reading the FOG did get the message.  There were at least 3 classes of user posts: pre-purchase trying to decide on 500 vs 700, pre-purchase trying to decide on accessories, and post-purchase fighting through the learning curve.  These were mostly interesting, not a lot of new information, but probably a good deal of new FOG members.

I did see mention of the sale on other forums as well.  I believe it was all user to user; no offical advertising.  At least it beat back the jokes about the only Festool sales as purchasing the month before the prices go up.

No SPAM Shane! I choose to be on several dealers emailing lists, so I received multiple notifications about the sale from various dealers, as well as the FOG notice and notice on the main Festool USA site.

The timing on the catalog mailing was amusing though---  :o

Ok, thanks. With our emails, I try to always have good content that's interesting and informative, in addition to any marketing. Just wanted to make sure it wasn't too much.

Ok, regarding the mailing of the brochures...I was contacted I'm guessing almost  mid sale, regarding having the Festool brochures stamped with my name and then shipped out to my customers. Sure, why not? Anyhow, the printings, labeling and shipping were done third party. I'm guessing the way, way largest amounts shipped out early June. But I will inquire why even (hopefully) a few customers received them so very late. That's a good question!
