Is there a preferred lubricant for the rails?  There is a lot of friction when I am plunging mortises.  I just sent it in to be repaired for something  and this.  I got the tool back today.  The other problem seems to be solved,  but the rails still have a lot of friction.
Anyone else experience this?
Thoughts?

I wipe the guides off with kitchen roll and then put "3 in 1" (light machine oil) on and wipe all over with my finger. I have not, so far, attempted to clean the guide bushes (female) only the (male) rails.

Be aware that WD-40 isn't considered a good lubricant by many people. The "WD" stands for "water displacement". WD-40 essentially floats moisture off the metal surface where it can evaporate. WD-40 can turn gummy over time and actually become an anti-lubricant. WD-40 is great if a metal surface (gun innards) gets wet and can't be disassembled immediately for drying & oiling.

Again, a light machine/gun oil is my preference for Domino lube.

Also, WD-40 is wonderful for cleaning stainless steel surfaces. It is what we use to clean all of our kitchen appliances that have stainless steel surfaces. The key is to apply a thin film and buff to a shine.
