Domino XL DF 700

Big question is how much will it cost? [crying]

With the conversion rate and the production costs and the big honkin dominos and the Festool name, I'd say, just under the base price of a Mercedes C - Class.  [cool]

OK, I was wrong. Again. My bad. But, mother of god that's an ugly lump of metal & plastic! [scared]

I still want one, though!

I think they've 'squashed' the motor housing so it'll still fit in a standard systainer...

that will certainly be more expensive than the OF500, looks like it doesn't replace the old one, but is complementary.
maybe comparable to the OF1010 and 2200, between 50 and 100% more expensive? those gigantic dominos are gonna cost an arm aswell.

My guess is this will be $1,600 or about twice as much as the standard Domino.

Nice find Jmb well done. [thumbs up]

I think the design looks completly logical with the d handle behind a stubby motor..

I dont have a use for this machine as my work involves most types of carpentry work from pitching roofs to built ins but I rarly make doors/frames

I dont think ive used a 10mm domino in anger 6mm is me sheet goods [smile]

So it will be a few months before I buy one [thumbs up]

Oh Man, I would not want to be Shane today!! [scared] [scared]

Can you imagine his Inbox with offers/plea's/blood letting/begging to do the review on this monster!! [laughing] [laughing]

A little dickie bird tells me that this will be released in the UK in the Autumn, (date and price yet to be fixed), alongside the ...........................

FESTOOL IMPACT DRIVER!!!!! [eek] [eek]

Better start saving the pennies!!!!

Peter

I wouldn't worry, if your UL guys wont allow you the CMS, what chance have you got of being allowed the equivalent of a hand held chain morticer!!!! [eek] [eek]

i dont mind the look of it.looks like a great machine to have for doing big joints. i dont think it would be much use to some one doing cabinets etc. i like the referencing system on the front

Anyone else having issue viewing and getting a message " video not found ".

JMB - thanks for the video link. I am sold.

Shane - when can we get this in NA :)

No Problem dudes!!

I thought seen as the Live show was over I was sure they would have a place where they stored the videos for people who missed it so checked youtube then decided to try the website!  Took me a while to find this archive!  Looking through all them crappy videos of that girl talking German/English thinking the Domino might just pop up in a min lol!  Then I realised their was a filter at the top saying FESTOOL I was like DAM IT!  clicked on it and hey presto the first video was the winner! I saw the Domino and I had to watch the video couple of times to examen it as much as possible!

I love the pop out align pins and having 3 on each side!  Nice feature!   140mm dominos well they will be sound for solid doors im sure!  As alot of solid doors you buy are made with 4 long dowels or something like that.  I found that out when I had to cut 35mm of each side of this door and on the hinge side it exposed 8  15mm holes oops!

Go to the 5-minute mark in the video and look at the distance the thing plunges.  That looks to me to be a lot more than 40mm.  What's everyone else think?

Regards,

John

You reading the same thread? and watching the same video lol!  Come on dude ill have to poke you! [poke]    Its been spoken and its obvious its 70mm deep.
