Domino XL: Horizontal bench mounting?

I've seen the wooden docks for the 500 and 700XL domino machines, but am thinking that horizontal mounting (upside down) might have some advantages, especially for the longer/taller XL. The idea behind making the machine stationary is the ease of working with smaller parts (usually clamped).

Before starting on designing something, thought I'd ask to see if anyone has tackled this before.
TIA!

I was thinking something more along the lines of:

Which I just found a few minutes ago.

I do a set-up similar to that, but just using the holes of my MFT-style bench top. That does look cool though, probably not as fast as hand held, but way more precise.

Thanks [member=58857]Crazyraceguy[/member] .  Next time you set up this MFT solution, could you possibly post a picture?  I have looked at this video a couple of times over the last six months and I kinda want to make something similar.  But seeing another option using the MFT holes sounds great.  Thanks.

With the trim stop attachment on the DF 500, I don't fully understand the need for a dedicated table and jig to put dominoes in the end of butt joints, but maybe I'm missing something?  I guess it makes sense for matching up the location on the face cuts, but the end cuts are trivial with the trim stop.  I agree that mitre cuts aren't doable with the trim stop.

I can't help but notice he's also using a pre-2009 Domino for this with the pin locators instead of the flaps.  Not sure how that affects anything, if at all.

Yeah, I only do this with mitered ends. The trim stop makes square ends simple.

Hey! Check out my You Tube video Domino drawers in three minutes. I mounted mine a different way and maybe it is something for you to consider.
