Domino XL Width Setting For Crib Slats &How to Mortise 1/2" Stock With Trim Stop

This is my first project using my Domino XL 700 (well except besides edge gluing panels). I used the fixture below to make quick work of machining about 50 mortises in the vertical slats for a crib project. Now I need to make the mating mortises in the rails. I used the standard width setting for the slats and was wondering since I know the position where the mortises go in the rails should I keep the setting on standard or go to wide? I'm worried both ways: 1) if std. setting no chance for error. 2) wide setting I may spend way too much time during glue-up trying to align the slats (13 on the crib front).

I have a Domino XL with the adapter for the smaller cutters. I have many slats for a crib project that I was going to use Domino M&T to attach to the rails with 6mm tenons. My rails are 3/4" stock and the slats are 1/2" thick x 2" wide. I attached my trim stop accessory to the XL but found out the fence can't be lowered enough to center the mortise in the 1/2" material. I was thinking of making a 5/32" shim but before I do was wondering if anyone has a better idea.

I have that set! I was wanting to use the trim stop to center the board but your suggestion is better.

Make a trim stop out of the Seneca plate by adding stops to it.

Slots made with Domino and the Seneca 1/2" plate has enough threads to hold the wings securely.
