Domino xl

If you are working with a material that won't swell from the glue, you can use the XL's 8mm tenons in 3/4" material.

The rule of thirds is not a hard rule. It's a rule of thumb, and can't be bent.  [wink]

In 3/4" stock, if you center the mortise, you'll have a little more than 3/16" of material on each side of the mortise.

To add to Shane's comments, the issue with using the XL on 3/4" (18mm) material isn't that the 8mm dominos are too thick, but rather that the 15mm offset of the XL puts the mortise too close to the face of the board.  Therefore, you need to use some kind of shim, such as the Seneca Domishim, to move the mortise closer to the center.

What they said ^

I've got an Xl with the Seneca adaptor and the domishims, works a treat on 18mm sheet and you get to run all of the 500 cutters in your machine to boot.

Worthwhile investment, well made and delivered quickly.
