Domino ?

For those that have a Domino whats the thinest board you can join?  is 1/2 inch board doable?

Yes, your tenon should be 1/3 the thickness of your workpiece. A 1/2" workpiece is 12mm making a 4mm domino perfect

if you want strength from the domino you should adhere to the 3rds rule of the domino(or tennon) shouldnt be bigger than the thickness either side of it.
if it is only alligning something and not in there for strength im sure you could go a little bit thinner but not much.

I've used a 5mm domino with 1/2" mdf with great success.  Didn't have a 4mm cutter.

I used the 5mm before 4mm was available however it was no doubt a somewhat weaker joint.

If you haven't yet , you should contact Ron and get one of his domino plates to use on the 1/2" and 3/4" stock. It work great and is one attachment you will use often.

I read threead....  Seems the fence can't support the weight of Donino body.. interesting...

i used 5mm on 15mm conti-board ( melamine board ) worked well  [big grin]
