Hi all.
Just wanted to share a great experience.

This is a remarkable tool in it self, but paired with the Domino it gets really great.

Incra T-Rule

I have a 6" version, and agree it is handy for use as illustrated with a 0.5 mm mechanical pencil.  Unfortunately, mine is in Imperial units, not metric.  None of the tool stores I frequent have carried the metric versions.

How do you use the T-square marking rule with your Domino machine?  I either use the locating pins built into the Domino or simply apply a pencil mark free hand or with a try square to the parts to be mortised.

Actually, I have two metric ones. I called Incra directly and they sent them over-sea very swiftly.

Today I put some shelves in speciality bookcase (built to fill a 200mm gap between two desks). I fastened the shelves with three dominos on each side of which the front dominos had "close fit". The others got the wider Domino hole. To get a good fit I used the T-Rule to mark 40mm from the edge. I wanted the shelves a little resessed so I marked theese 38mm from the edge. This 2mm offset is not doable with the pins on the domino.

Michael,
I love the Incra T-rule but still am having a hard time to visualize excatly how you are using it. Can you take a picture?  Because of old eyes, or bad lighting, I think that I wouldnt see the offset well enough. I tend to use Formica sample chips for such use and use feel. But I like your thinking.

I don't have a camera at hand. Tried to make a drawing instead.

Here is a close-up on the lower front edge of one of the sides of the bookcase and the front part of one of the shelves. The rounded rectangles are Domino holes.

To mount the shelf a little resessed (is that the word?) I'll have to offset the domino in the shelf so that it sits a little bit closer to the edge than that of the side of the bookcase.
