I keep going back and forth. Today, I have to decide.  Domino these feet to the base, or use screws? And, if screws, which ones?
Any input with this, is appreciated.

I'd use screws and elongate the holes in the feet. #8 or 10 should be good enough.

Dominoes and glue.

You'll be done in less time than it would take to drill all of the screw holes.

I use the Domino whenever, and wherever I can.

On second thought, RL makes a good point.

Cross grain.

;)

Domino the fronts, elongated screw holes in the rear.

Personally I would just use screws nice and simple a lot of screws are self drilling like spax just. Counter sink the wood and as long as not too near the end shouldn't split of using a 75x4.0 which is same as 8 gauge and a couple of clamps to hold the feet while fixing

Code:

Thank you, eveyone!
I went with 2-1/2 inch screws, pre-drilled and counter-sunk. No glue...this way they can be removed.

As a point of interest, why not smaller individual feet - then there'd be no cross grain issue to resolve ??

I would have liked this, Kev. My customer designed these benches.
I learned a lot, and am still learning, from such a simple project.  Now, I understand why most furniture builders make a design, put it on their website, and take orders from that model.  It saves a lot of headache. Fortunately, and unfortunately everything I do is custom made to the customers' needs. Most just say,"I need a such and such for this space."
