Has anyone used ordinary dominos on exterior work ?

I haven't but i don't see why you couldn't just leave them in some outdoor stain / treatment overnight then use them?
I mean people use normal untreated pine outdoors then just treat it and it lasts a fair while.

I used Sipo tenons in outdoor benches. The benches were made of Ipe.

The bench tops, 3 boards, were joined with the Sipo tenons. I used a 2 part epoxy in the mortises and made sure the tiny portion of the tenon that might get some moisture was coated with epoxy.

The benches seem to be holding up well after a couple of years.

I never wanted to chance it. I make my own from mohogany scraps. They cut up fast on a band saw and the edges trim fast with a good sharp hand plane mounted upside down in my bench.

No something I'd do ... I just don't see it being worth the risk.
