Domiplate Order Thread

Gentlemen, any updates on Domiplate availability?

We received the latest shipment from our anodizing vendor, but many of them weren't anodized evenly...and on top of that, they used the wrong color.  So we had to ship the order back to get fixed.  I'll post here soon and update the senecawoodworking.com site when I have a better idea of when we'll be back in stock... Sorry everyone for the delay.

Unless lightning strikes a third time that should be this Thursday or Friday.  I also designed a Domiplate XL (XL 700) that will be coming a little later.

I'll let my son Ryan address this however we are finding that if we give the conventional wholesale discounts to the big boys (you know who they are) it would move us into a non-profit organisation status.  Our margins aren't very large.  [unsure]  The difference may be if we could get very large orders for resale from W, R, & LV where it would eliminate much handling.

Speaking of Domino XL - have you put any thought into making something similar to the jigs Rembo has shown us?  A jig that would allow for morticing door locks and hinges would be freaking amazing.  I say this for two reasons:  first, I hate doing it... and second, I'm terrible at it (probably why I hate doing it, hah).

Humm, the bit swings in an arc so you'd need to square up the cut.

I seem to remember a definitive statement (by you) that the Butt Mortise plane is the only plane you would ever own... I was wrong once before though.  [big grin]  [big grin]  [big grin]

we've had interest from a few US dealers who are interested... we're putting together a plan to do this in the near future.  I would be open to exporting a batch for you to sell...  I'll have to do some more research about what the best way is to do this (eg, things like the most economical way to ship and if we need to do anything differently for customs, etc).    Drop me an email - info@senecawoodworking.com and I'll let you know as we are closer to being ready to do this.

I was going through a shipment of parts I picked up from the machine shop, and I found this one Domiplate that was significantly larger than the ones we have made now. In fact, If I had to accurately describe its size, I wouldn't just call it large, I would say it was **XL!**
