Domzilla Torque And Slide Action Issues...

???Not a huge prob and I can deal with it in glue up and clamping, but I can't seem to be able to get 2 flat surfaces to mate up perfectly flat.  I'm talking about the surfaces that rest on the flip-down fence when cutting.  In other words, the 2 surfaces never come out perfectly co-planer.  Pushing down on the fence with all my might seems to help quite a bit, but it's still slightly there.
Also, I'm finding that the slide action seems to hang up right at the beginning of the plunge.  When it finally breaks free and slides forward, the bit tends to hit the workpiece kind of hard and I get some tear out.
Any technique help would be appreciated.  I have been using a DF500 with no problems.

Tough crowd..

I can easily have the same issues with my Domino ..  Its a fussy tool for the type of work your doing..  For me stuff has to be clean and I have to go slow.

Guess I'm the only one with the workpiece twist issue and a sticky Dom XL slider.  Oh well...

I have not encountered the issues you describe with either my 500 or 700.  I wonder if there's something odd about your specific 700.

thanks for  the reply.  Since my 500 does not have that issue, i wonder as well.  If the 700 wasn't so heavy and wouldn't cost a lot to send in, I would do that and at least have it checked out to be sure.  If it's me, then I'll learn how to deal with it.  I'm just wondering.

Contact Festool via phone.  Remember that if it needs service in the first year the shipping expenses both ways are handled by Festool.
