Drawer Slides on Vanity Mirror

I renovated a bathroom for a friend.  Normal stuff for a complete tear out.  The vanity was designed to be half open shelves and half closed.  I was going to use barn door hardware but in the end thought drawer slides would give a cleaner look. I just used standard slides.  Haven’t seen them used this way.  Design matches trim details of nearby doors and windows.  Wired each side with usbc receptacles and desk grommets so excess wire can be hidden.  Curtain will be replaced with glass panel.

Very well done!  It's almost like hidden storage.  A lot of people wouldn't immediately realize the mirror slides sideways.

Nice.  Another option is the down-sized barn door hardware designed for cabinets.  The hardware is always on display unlike the drawer hardware which is only on display when open.

That's a great idea! Nicely done. In fact if done with a sliding dovetail could dress it up when open.

Thanks guys.  Almost went with barn door hardware since I installed a door with it adjacent to bathroom.  In the end tried the slide idea on a prototype and liked the look. 

I made a simple jig to align slides for mounting.  You need latch mechanism on side facing out for access to it!  I used wood the same thickness as slide glued to heavy paper aligned with slide.    Ran a block of wood over paper to emboss mounting holes.  Marked each side with different colors to keep track of each side and direction of slide. Used wood on the jig as a guide on the cabinet side.  Alignment was important.  You might come up with an easier way than I did.
