I have a DRC 18/4 that hasn't seen as much use as I would have liked - though I prefer it to the T18 despite the extra bulk. One of the reasons is the poor belt clip which is prone to slippage walking up stairs, taking a large step or up/down a ladder. Dropping the DRC with a holesaw attached can put a dent not only in your confidence of the belt clip, but also in your clients very expensive wooden floor that YOU just put in. 
I was out on a new studio build and though I'd bring the DRC, took a good look at the stupid belt clip rods and then decided I would just pry them off [eek].
Well off it was just a matter of borrowing the belt clip from the T18 (and remove the fixed 4mm screw) thread a longer 4mm insex bolt through the machine and hook it up to a cabinet connector screw on the other side. Openings on the machine wedges the T18 clip securely on the one side and the connector screw rim wedges in nice and tight on the other. A ten minute fix.
Though the clip is not centered on the machine side as on the T18 the clip works great and gravity pulls it down on a slight diagonal and keeps it firmly in place. Should have done this years ago!
I love the light on the DRC/PDC and love the grip. Will do some interior framing on six units and this will be the go to drill for that now.
Next up is the BHC 18 which is in for a similar permanent fix. EDIT: Done, posted in own thread.
