Hi

I have recently purchased a Drc 18 that needs some love. The switches up top to change torque and clutch are a bit stiff. Any suggestions on what i could spray in there to get them moving nicely again.

Would pulling the drill apart for an internal clean be a bad idea?

Thankyou

Hi,

do not just spray anything into those selectors/switches. That might help momentarily but whatever is causing the stiffness will just collect somewhere else then...

If you feel there is something truly wrong with them, send the DRC to Festool. If you don't want to do that and feel up to taking the DRC apart yourself, you might want to take a look at the spare part catalog first:http://ekat.festool.de/login/jsp/ma...-Kunde-FT_US&password=Customer&design=festool

Choose the PDC (similar to your DRC) and get an idea/ first glance at what you will be dealing with.

However, coming from my experience - I will not recommend pulling the drill apart unless you know exactly what you are doing.

I had to learn this the hard way with a Hilti.

Kind regards,
Oliver
