Dressing table

The most appropriate word for this is beautiful!

The only problem I have is that I showed the photos to my wife and she says she would like me to make something similar.  But, I am not at all sure that I am capable of building something similar.

Really well executed design.  Love the handles.  The finish is a great compliment to the simplicity of the piece.

Can you elaborate a bit on how you made the recesses?  Was it just an oval with a large bit and collar to follow the contour?

Hi Frank, I have a similar problem, my auntie visited us the other day and now she wants one too.

Hi Neil, Routering the recesses was some scary stuff. I made an oval template based in the base of my OF2000 router and used a massive bowl/cove bit. I couldnt use any collar due to the size of the bit and where it was positioned. Tested the template on a scrap piece of ply first, to check if it worked. Clamped the template and drawer fronts down securely, last thing I wanted was for the bit to catch.

Thanks woodgeek and Bill, Its very encouraging to read such nice compliments.

KorDes,

I'm way behind in reviewing the many posts on FOG and just came across your chest of drawers project.

There's not much I can add to what has already been written.

Beautiful design, selection of woods, construction and finish.  I hope the owner of that new chest is equally pleased with her new treasure!
