Drill Anti-Kickback

Bosch has now introduced technology that reduces the risk of kickback in their drills.

I wish Festool had this.  If Festool did I wouldn't have cartilage damage in my wrist from my T-18 kicking back on me.  [sad]

Yes, that would be a nice and very welcome feature.
But I would guess there is a patent on it so the outlook for the next ~20 years is bleak...

FYI, the Anti-kickback technology has been there for years, and only Bosch drills have this technology. Wish the technology will become the mandatory safety feature for all the drills in the future.

Nope. Mafells A18 has kickback protection. Probably the Metabo pendant as well.

I have never had kick back on my c15. Isn't the torque control effective for this?  I have used it on hole saws, and any time it is close to binding, the machine beeps out, ensuring total safety. In fact I can't use any other older drill for such tasks, because the torque control on the c15 is so rapid and effective.

That is part of the reason I chose Bosch when I upgraded my 18v gear. I had a Hitachi hammer drill near lift me up when the bit bound up drilling into masonary. I needed 6 visits to the physio to work on my wrist after that!

I haven't had the Bosch system kick in while in use, but I had 'tested' it by quickly moving the drill when operating in free air. The power is cut quickly and resets after the trigger is releaed.

Nice. That's a cool feature. Wouldn't pay extra for it, but it would be nice to have as a standard.

I purchased a right angle drill to drill grommet holes just to eliminate the wrist (and knuckle) damage I suffered with a standard drill.  The main reason I purchased a PDC was for the right angle chuck which works well with 2" to 3" hole saws with no wrist damage.
