I got tired of loose blades and drill bits in my yellow combo tool container and switched over the drill/saw/charger into a midi. Made a tray for organizing loose bits and some extra stuff. I like the idea of magnetic strips on the inside of the lid for the blades that other folks had on theirs, but haven't gotten a round tuit yet. That's coming, and of course more blades to take up all that lid real estate with.
The saw & drill are in fairly tight, but loose enough to get 1/4 ply down only one side. I had to cut a notch on the other end of the "stand" to wrap around the battery, and then built the tray from there. Materials were about $20 and only took a few hrs. I made the sides high enough to mount a handle across the insert, which required 3 notches on each side for the lid to close. I scrapped that idea for a short handle instead, which allows better access to everything and space to lay drill sets. At that point, the sides could have been cut down, but I didn't bother as it would have been a pain after being built. Thank you all for the inspiration.
