Drill Bits Set Options

I just picked up a CXS and will likely grab a TID in the near future. I was hoping to get a high quality festool drill bits set like the Centrotec Installers Set (no longer available) or the CENTROTEC Assembly package SYS 1 CE-SORT (too expensive and have to ship from Europe).

Sooo... with no real festool option to us Yankees, I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations on a high quality and complete set from another manufacturer to use for my drill? Thanks!

[member=15585]Svar[/member] I guess, but that’s a pretty crappy option. It would be a lot better if Festool actually offered us in NA a viable option instead of us having to pick up overpriced scraps on eBay :-)

Thanks [member=37411]ear3[/member], very helpful :-)

I was hoping more for a complete set like the two sets I mentioned as opposed to piece meaning one together.

Axminster in the UK sells Centrotec drill bits with a variety of options and AFAIK, they ship to the US. I do happen to have Festool's brad point metric and twist drill Imperial Centrotec drill bit sets and I do like them. I forgot when and where I bought them, however. There's a "stubby" set of bradpoints, too. I use Snappy's Centrotec pre-drill/countersinks which happen to be Imperial.

I would try and get some of the Axminster style ones that fit both Centrotec and 1/4" hex as if you get Centrotec only they won't fit the impact when you get it.

Personally I find the CXS a bit slow for drilling so normally just use it as a screwdriver and have another drill set up for drilling, the Tid would be fine for this and as I say takes the 1/4" hex bits which are cheaper and easier to come by.

The advantage of FT Centrotec set is that it has separate sleeves for every bit. You can easily replace bits as they break or wear out with appropriate metric sizes or swap them with brad points etc.
Snappy does this too, but the range of sizes is smaller.
