I wanted to follow up on this topic. I ended up getting a used TPC / TID set locally, and I've been using them for about a week.
I'm happy to report that the grip is identical between the two tools. Based on images I've seen online it looks like the TXS18 shares this grip as well. The TPC is a very nice drill, but definitely a bit big. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we get a T18 update soon, as I think that's the perfect mid size drill.
