Drill Perfect Holes With The New UJK Technology Drill Guide

What if you had two concentric rings, the inner one fastened to the underside of your drill stand and the outer one with a pair of holes bored horizontally through to accept the rods from the edge guide. Would need to be a snug fit to maintain concentricity.

Then you drop the drill stand ring into the outer ring and can rotate the drill guide to whatever position you desire to bore an angled hole at. A lock screw from the outer ring could clamp the inner ring in position so it wouldn't drift.

Some of that red aluminum like they have in Strongsville, Ohio sounds like the right material. :-)
I think it would be a nice fit under their new auto-line drill guide.

It would probably work, but it would have to be quite thick as the bars for the OF2200 edge guide are 10 mm thick. The red aluminium version would probably be more expencive than the UJK drill stand, but very nice. :)

Small angles could probably be accommodated  with a wedge on the edge guide. I am going to experiment and see what can be done with some plywood scraps. I dont have a need for the edge guide right now, but I an going to regret not having tested this when I do.

I was thinking use the existing edge guide that comes with the Auto-Line drill guide, just connect it to the outer ring in place of the drill guide base. In which case the outer ring could actually be square to match the base with a hole in the center to fit the inner ring.
