Drywall Sanding with ETS 150/5

Has anyone used this sander to sand a seam filling job?

I use my ETS 125 all the time for smaller jobs and it works perfect. You should have similar results with the 150.

I am going to try it on a 450 sq ft basement renovation we are doing.  Any tips or tricks?

Use a fine grit. Keep the sander speed up. Set the extraction rate on the vac low. Enjoy.

Scott, do you sand the new drywall after it is primed to knock down the rough texture it leaves? If so, do you use something like the ETS to do it?

On a large scale, that would be time consuming. The best choices for speed would be a Planex style tool or a pole sander. Usually a quick pole sand scuff is enough to smooth off backrolled primer.

I like the ets/rts/dts for patch and skim sanding.

I sanded a ceiling for my painter brother with my planex last summer after prime. It was awesome, because of the smooth surface the sander really sucks to the ceiling and supports the entire weight of the sander, all I had to do was steer. Had 2000sqft of ceilings sanded in no time and it looked really good, left a really smooth surface for and the final paint job was perfect.

It was either 220 or 240 brilliant, can't remember which. It was effortless I could of used one hand to sand a 9' primed ceiling.
