Drywall sanding with ETS EC150

I have some patches and canless light relocations I need to do in drywall and was considering getting a Planex, Mirka Leros, or similar, using it for this work and possibly reselling since I would very rarely have a need for it.

But then I was thinking if I could adapt a 220mm sanding pad to my ETS EC150, that might be doable for small repair jobs like this, even if not ideal.

Has anyone seen such a way to attach a 220mm sanding pad to a smaller sander? The dust collection would be diminished on the outer area but again for these repairs maybe not a big deal. I can wear a full face respirator and run an air purifier in this room.

I use mine with 180 grit Granat net paper. Works very well. Unless you are doing a ton of drywall just use the 150mm. If you are doing a ton, but the drywall sander.

That's what I've been doing I just figured the larger diameter would be better for sanding large areas flatter.

Not sure if there’s a way to adapt 220mm pads to the EC, but I find 150mm to be perfectly adequate for situations like this.  I use no lower than 180 grit, 220 preferred, and assuming the mud is applied properly with a wide knife or skimming blade, don’t have any issues with “unflattening” it with 150mm.  Ideally most of the sanding takes place at the edges of the mud anyways, but every repair is different.

So far it hasn’t been bad actually. I need to skim coat a small 2’ wide section of wall that is concave cause of the framing and I was thinking the large sander would help. I need to pickup a wide skimming blade I think. Maybe the 150mm will be fine.
