Duo question

Just picked up a Duo with tripod. Very robust tool.

Hope this hasn't been already discussed.

My only complaint is that it doesn't tilt up and down (unless I'm missing something). When working on ceilings i often find the need to change the angle of light, not just the height.

Maybe this already exists, but a simple fix would be an adjustable pivot adapter that would fit between the tripod and light.

If this exists would someone point it out. If it doesn't i think it would be a great addition to this kit and would make this tool near perfect.

I've got one and used it for electrical work on new construction. I wanted to shine more light toward the ceiling so I removed it from the tripod and sat it on a table top. As far as a pivot point to accomplish the task you're wanting, I'm not aware of anything but did consider making one. But that's as far as I got.
According to Peter Parfit it can pivot in any direction except straight down. So if you make one don't allow it to point down.

Unless I'm mistaken, Duo fits to a speaker stand and not a threaded camera tripod (ala syslites).

You are (mostly) correct.  The Duo doesn't have a threaded mount.  It has a pin detent locking connection like those that are on professional tripod speaker stands.  However, the Duo doesn't use the standard 35mm attachment.  The Duo's is slightly smaller so it won't fit a normal tripod speaker stand.  I bought a cheap $20 stand and made an adapter for it, works fine, but still won't tilt up/down.

I made a base from 3/8" polycarbonate, tapped 1/4-20 and use it on a tilting camera tripod that I already owned.  It's possible to buy these in the price range that Brice bought but better ones can be found on Optics Planet.
