I used furnace filters (20” x 20”) and a 20” box fan. I attached the filters using two bungee cords.
You can buy high filtration (pollen, etc) from 3M or dust only filters for $3.00 each.
I used the cheap filter on the intake side and Filtrete filters on the exhaust side. By first filtering out the dust, you extend the life of the expensive filters.
I used this for my old darkroom and it worked fine.
The filters ended up costing more than the fan, which I found on sale for about $15.00.
