I just bought a TS 55. It hasn't arrived yet but my problem is I have a CT Mini that I use with my RO 90DX and it says not to plug anything more than 3.3 amps into the auto plug in. The TS 55 draws 10 amps. I realize I could just plug into another outlet and use it on manual but I really like the auto feature. My question is, what size dust extractor can I safely use the auto feature with the TS 55? None of the spects on the Festool site mentions the limits on each model.

I didn't know the MINI had that limitation but I have the MIDI and it works great.

Hi,

  Welcome to the forum.  [smile]

Please note I do not speak for Festool about this topic. The following is my opinion. You can run any of the Festool tools on any of the dust extractors.

Thank you!! I was worried I would have to purchase a bigger dust extractor. [big grin]

You will anyway!  Sooner than you think!! [big grin]  In short order, you will have more systainers than you know what to do with. It happens to us all! [scared]

Cheers,

Frank

I also noticed on my CT 26 E Dust Extractor it has a warning next to the auto on receptacle. WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire, only connect a tool rated 3.7 amps. maximum to this receptacle. I checked the instruction manual and on page 7 under the technical data table.

The dust extractor uses 2.9 - 8.3 amps.
The maximum total connected load is 12 amps.
The maximum rating of connected POWER TOOL is 3.7 amps, there was a number 2 next to the 3.7 that referenced a note.
Note 2: when the suction power adjuster is adjusted to the lowest suction power the maximum rating of a connected power tool can be 9.1 amps.

Bottom line is I guess if you reduce the suction power to the low setting or a combination of reducing the speed of the TS Saws (55 or 75 or other higher amp tools) and the suction power you should be okay.

This warning is a formality for UL approval and can largely be ignored in practical use.  The real limiting factor is the 15 or 20 amp electrical circuit you have the vac/tool plugged into.

???OF2200 router too ? But don't  run thru the switch on CMS GE rated much higher.....so confusing. [blink]

The CT Dust Extractors are designed to work with ALL Festool power tools. You may also find that it is advantageous to use another circuit to energize a power tool separate of that being used by the CT Dust Extractor to ensure the maximum current is available for the application.

I have a CTL26 and I can run either the Kapex, TS 55 or OF2200 through it with no problem whatsoever - I am in the UK and so have 240 volts.

The only tools that I do not run through it are the ones that I do not have !

Boy, I've never heard that from Festool before.
