Hello Everyone,
A number of people have asked how to receive automatic e-mail notifications for group activities. This post explains how to do this in a couple of very simple steps. This post also explains the choices available for specifying how you receive notifications.
By following the steps below, you can automatically "subscribe" to topics you post in, or topics you create. This means that replies to topics are sent to you via e-mail.
follow these steps to activate notifications:
1. Click "PROFILE" on the main menu at the top of the forum screen.
2. When the next screen appears, click on "Notifications and Email" in the "Modify Profile" section. Use the image below for reference:

3. On the right side, click all the boxes that apply to notifications you wish to receive.
Notes on choices:
"Receive forum announcements and important notifications by email."
On rare occasions, the forum administrator will create special notices and announcements that are important for members to know about (forum maintenance, major changes, and other). Checking this option will mean that you receive these notifications via e-mail, without having to sign in to the forum. All members should leave this option activated.
"Receive reply notification only for the first unread reply."
Checking this option will make it so that you only receive notification for the first unread reply to your subscribed topic. If you want to receive an e-mail for every single reply to a topic, leave this option unchecked.
"Turn notification on when you post or reply to a topic."
When you check this option, you will automatically receive notification every time you post in a topic.
"When sending notification of a reply to a topic, send the post in the email (but please don't reply to these emails.)"
By checking this option, you will receive the entire text of responses in an e-mail. If you leave this un-checked, you will only receive the topic title.
"For topics and boards I've requested notification on, notify me of:"
Once you have chosen to receive notifications, this pull-down menu allows you to specify what kind of replies you receive.
Thanks,
Matthew Schenker
