Easier-to-use Clamps for MFT

I like the quick action of the lever-action quick clamp (491594) but the ability to use it one-handed would be a great improvement.  Could a spring be incorporated into the design like these?

great idea. it is one of those really annoying moment when just as you get that complicated clamping set up just right whith one hand the fxxxxin clamp bar slips down and you cant pull it back up.

I think the spring idea looks just as involved. And there are simpler ideas out there.

I've had good luck using fes clamps in extruded t-track, but not (yet) in an MFT.

I do think the idea of using the Kreg hold- down has possibilities.

Or, for production work, mounting toggle clamps to T-track. It can be bolted to the table via a separate board, or inlaid directly into the table.

Veritas also has a few clamping ideas that would work with a 3/4" hole.

Shop around outside of the green world... There are good things out there.

Use binder clips on the bar above the arm, it keeps the bar from sliding.  With binder clips you can just barely use the quickclamps with one hand.  Old FOG tip, do some searches to find others.

I want to say that was Per's tip.  I must be the only person that can use the quick clamps with one when needed.

I always use one hand!  I see no problem using one hand it's easy.   

Any way people who do have a problem what about some of these clamps?  Grind them to fit? Maybe do fit I don't know

Any of them can be used one-handed. It can be tricky though. It's much more difficult if they're vertical, like when you're using them sticking out of the top of an MFT, than when they are horizontal, like in the t-track on on the side of an MFT.

If in the right configuration, the screw clamps or Quick Clamps are easy to manipulate one-handed.
