Just wanted to pass along easy fix for those with a Kapex that is difficult to push down or will not retract to the upright position on its own. Mine was squeaking and would not fully retract on its own and when that happens the guard is not covering the lower portion of the blade and your could easily contact the exposed blade when reaching for the stock. Another reason to leave the saw head down until the blade stops.
Simply lubricate the large main spring of the head unit with WD40, and the saw retracts super smooth once again. There apparently is some resistants from this main spring as it rotates over the steel pin it is mounted on. You don't need to remove the blade as some suggest there is nothing to be seen by doing that, just lower the head and the top of the spring is visible and can be lubricated.
