Ebay score!!!

You guys must get screwed on prices over in the states! In the UK these can be had brand new and delivered for £140!

How much would these have been new from a dealer in the US?

Wow!

The cheapest I've found in the uk is, 1400/55" rail is available for £42 each and the quick clamps £28 each.

That's $60 a rail and $40 for the clamp versus $133 and $54. I wonder why there's such a large difference in rail pricing?

£140 = $199

Festool USA price is $133

$66 less here, ouch.

Are you paying VAT on top of that £140?

No that's inclusive of VAT. You see to be missing the point that the £140 figure was for 2 x rails and 2 x clamps...

I tell ya being a yank and living in the UK it's kind of kool cuz I get the best of both worlds. I can get the NAINA stuff which I have to pay UK prices and I order stuff from the states..

I find that most tools are cheaper in the states. There are some things that are better to buy here in the UK. Those things for the most part are accessories. Unless I need the item right now I'll order from the states.

I am at a advantage though because I use a Military Post Office so I don't pay import taxes shipping etc.

With that being said, I'm not a import export business so don't ask ok.

Festool generally pulls the plug on any dealer that discounts their products without authorization.  I wonder if they do the same for those who try to price gouge???

I don't know, there are a LOT of higher than MSRP listings all the time on ebay. Typically it is a pawn shop or some other non Authorized dealer, just based on what they are trying to sell and their other items. Every now and then, I will send a message and ask 'what else are you including with this $300 so and so for your asking price of $900...?' Normally I dont get a reply! I did get one once that said they were a new seller and basically bought at retail and then marked up to their asking price. Seems pretty dumb to me, but whatever--- listing fees alone make this a dumb practice in my mind, especially since you can find the actual prices in about 5 seconds online... That awesome "deal" on the MFK looks to me to be a drop shipper based on the number and variety of items. So might as well stick some high dollar stuff online and see if anyone bites-

Usually they hike the price up when one of the items is out of stock. It's cheaper than removing and relisting an item I think.
