Edge banding question

First let me start by saying I have always been frustrated with edge banding.  Just been doing straight edges.  Normally I have always ended up using the stuff from one of the big box stores.  I am going to try the offerings from Fastcap. 

Now for my question, if I was building a small cabinet/box out of birch plywood and wanted to do a chamfer or round over would I be able to edge band the parts that are chamfered or rounded over?  Do I need to use a wider edge banding to account for the profile?

You would have to go thicker so the chamfer or round over does not get into the plywood.

Solid edge banding. 1/4-3/8" thick would be a starting point.

This is where the MFK 7-- really shines.

Solid edge banding in clamps. You can see the solid banding on the long edge. Use the Collins plywood bit to prep the panel edge.

For edge banding I really like the FastCap.

I don't think edge banding a round over or chamfer will work very well.  It might bend well on a large radius round over but will be hard to roll down firmly (I think). Might crack when bent  onto a chamfer, but it could be rolled easily enough.

BUT, the way to do that is apply solid wood edge thick enough to do all the rounding and chamfering in the solid wood.
