I am fairly new to Festool products.  Trying to understand if the edge guide works with the ETS 125 REQ-Plus? I know that it works with the ETS 125 REQ but don't understand the difference with the Plus version.

Welcome Franck.

The 'plus' designation means it comes in a systainer.  The tool will be the same.

If you're buying a new ETS125 you shouldn't have any issues with compatibility. However, if you already have an older version of the ETS125, like I do, the Edge Guide won't work. I would say that the Edge Guide is a great accessory and, for me, made it worthwhile to buy a new version of the ETS125 that it works with. Since buying the new sander and edge guide, I've used is to do essentially perfect edge sanding, which is very difficult to do without the accessory.

Wanting to use the edge guide is my reason to purchase my first Festool. I have a bunch of cabinets coming up and saw a video of the guide.

The guide and sander DO NOT fit when together into the Systainer the sander comes with, or at least the older Systainer II has to bow in order to close. Now will they fit together in a Systainer III equivalent size. You can make a tray to support the sander/edge guide if you so desire. I moved mine to a Systainer III, and repurposed the Sys II to an abrasive holder.

Thought you might want to know.

Also if you don't have a dust extractor, the cordless ETSC version does a better job of collecting dust into a bag. Festool is known for their excellent dust collection.
