Hi all,
I have a Festool EHL65 planer which generally I am very happy with; however I have noticed that the shavings collection bag that attaches to the planer is pretty poor at actually collecting waste. Even without the collection bag on but with the angle spout pointing at the floor to direct shavings I still seem to end up wearing most of the waste  ;D
I appreciate that extraction is the ideal but on some of the sites I am on here in the UK it really isn't much of an option, it is a case of use a bag or jet the waste at the floor straight from the planer (something my old Makita planer was fine at - good collection from bag).
Anyone noticed this and found a way to improve waste extraction?
Thanks.

Yeah they talked me out of buying the dust bag when I bought my ehl65 they admitted it was crap.

When I can I use it with the Midi vac and its perfect you can trim doors etc in houses with no mess at all, but when I use it without the vac I have noticed it doesnt seem to have enought oomph to blast the shavings out of the spout

Thanks for the reply mate. I am intending to invest in an extraction unit (probably the CTL22) for domestic work but I can't see me using it much on some of the muddy holes we seem to visit on site. We do actually have a Bosch portable extractor that belongs to one of the lads but he doesn't seem to use it much either. Do you use your etraction unit for mainly domestic work or pretty much everything?
