Hello all,

I have a CT33 purchased in New Zealand ( I have since moved back to the States) . It runs on 220V (single wire not two legs of 110) I can run the vacuum in a shop with three phase power by wiring a dedicated outlet for the vac but of coarse I loose the power tool auto on feature. Problem is I have moved and don't have three phase any more. I am using a voltage converter and that works...now the big question.

Is there anyway I can convert the motor to run on 110?

I have asked Festool to replace the motor at my expense but they refuse  [crying] , any Ideas short of selling this unit to someone in Europe, and buying a new one?

Cheers

Cost probably not worth it - even if you could find alternative (OEM) motor, quite likely the motor used is rebranded.  To run at 110v all cables, wiring and switchgear would need to be checked tht it can take the current to drive the motor at equivalent power.

Cheap solution and not a complete fix - rf remote socket with a little transmitter fob you could use rather than autoswitching.
