Well I am just in from my first emergency call out and what a nightmare it was. A women's boyfriend out on bail decides to kick in the front door breaking the lock and the door frame for the second time. The dumd dumd joiner though it would be ok to fit 21mm redwood plate as a frame [dead horse] [dead horse]so that exploded with him kicking it. Landlord rings me say it needs a new lock and some wood to patch the latch
So of I go to my local b&q at 7.30 pick up six types and sizes of locks just to have with me a £120 lighter off I go to see the job. What I am greeted with is the landlord and two cops and a neighbour how's car got vandalised with brake fluid [scared]. First thing that came out of my mouth was has everyone been asrrested for all this damaged cause Notting is coming out of this van unless
So the boyfriend was arrested statements were made I can start to get the door locked for the women. Like I said earlier the 21mm redwood had exploded were the latch was cut in so it needed a new leg for the frame. Out of the wood rack in my van I luckly had 120x33mm redwood dressed for the leg. Off I pop up stairs yes you heard me right upstairs forth floor with my pdc, nail pouch, chisels and start to strip out the damaged leg of the frame it wasn't to bad removing the so called (joiners) work. The bad thing he did was he never had a level so he packed and screwed it my eye I think cause he had to plane loads off the edge near the top so it looks weird there's Notting I can do about that now I have to adjust the frame to the door the door frame is done glued and nailed door stops
Now on to the locks the landlord said he got invoiced for a 5 lever sash lock and a Yale night lock the joiner done him on that one it was only a cheap 3lever sash lock no wonder it was so easy to kick in and the Yale night lock he started it marked out notched in the little lip and the must of realised he hadn't got a 32mm drill bit ha ha watch a muppet I feel bad for the landlord he got charged top rate aswell by him.
The reason I posted the story was get outmy frustation not at the job but at my tools see I have a mix of tools some 240v and some 110v well guess which on I need up on the forth floor you got it the 110v transformer for my sds drill and today of all days the festool voucher pops thru the door so. I know what I am getting with my voucher out of the money for the job
Cheers robert
