I'm not understanding exactly what Festool's Energy Boxes are for?  on the Festool UK site I find Energy boxes,  both stationary and on Boom Arms,  and aside from providing relief from tripping hazards and convenience of a central unit for plugging in dust hoses, electrical and air,  -what are these for
more specifically the "Energy Boxes"  -what do these do?

You just answered your own question. What more should there be to these things?

They are meant to speed up work and reduce shop clutter. The big ASA boom arms are typically meant for body shops working on cars. You put the car in the right spot and swing out the boom arm and everything is right there on the energy box instead of having to plug in extension cords and haul a vac around.
