Guys,

I am thinking about getting a pair of these puppies to try.
I am sick and tired of Carhartt always tearing and ripping within 6 months of purchase. On my current pair, the tool loop where I used to clip my tape measure went 3 months in, and the crotch not long after.

I too have been considering Bjornklader, but I don't really like the pouch pockets being omnipresent.

The Engelbert-Strauss E.S. Motion seem more tear resistant due to incorporating more synthetic material, and I like their pocket layout quite alot (being left-handed).

My question to you is:
Does anyone has had any kind of experience with them?
If so, how is the fit compared to American fit or Carhartts?

Let me know what you think.
Thanks for reading

I'm digging the look of those pants. I really like the fit of my Bjornklader ace pants but I do wish the pockets weren't always there.  What source are you ordering these from?

Their .de website. They take bank deposit and ship via forwarder ( I think FedEx) with COD shipping and duties.

I am waiting on someone to comment regarding fit, but I will be placing my order next week regardless, I'll just order one size up along with 2 pairs of kneepads, the tool pouch and a pair of safety boots.

I've only used blakladder, which is the same as bjornklader.  I like the pockets because I don't like to wear a tool belt.  I got the Brawny Canvas pants and jacket.  This past Monday, I wore long johns top and bottom with the Blakladder pants and jacket, I wasn't cold.  But my hands froze (-17).  Atlas Machinery sells the blaklader.  You can always cut off the pockets if the cost isn't economical.

For the Blakladder and Bjornklader crowd, both have had a presence at JLC in the past.  Last year Bjornklader was missing because the sales rep had a heart attack.  However Blakladder was there out in the hall.  Oh, best deals can be had on Saturday afternoon, the day the show closes.

Just thought I would pass this along.

The usual disclaimers, yada, yada, yada...

I switched from snickers to Engelbert strauss about 9 or 10 years ago when a pair of dungarees was going to cost almost £100.......

I think the Engelbert Strauss ones are great and cost less than  half the price...

Their t shirts are good they last ages and wash well..

For US folks, have you tried Duluth Trading's firehose pants?

They are guaranteed forever. I just exchanged a pair that was 3 years old and had a fastener failing. I had to pay the difference from the old price to the new price, which was $10 on a $79 pair of work pants.

No affiliation, other than also being in MN...

I only wear Engelbert Strauss ES motion, looks cool but is also comfortable. And it is incredibly strong. I bought a new pants last december after wearing the same one 6 days a week for almost 2 years. The fabric, buttons and zipper were still holding up, but the hoock n loop closings were worn. In the first weeks that i wore that pants i made an accidental cut in the thigh area with a cutter, i left it that way for over a year and it didn't even get larger.

I also wear their T-shirt, polo's and sweaters as work clothes. The fit is good when you use their measuring system, only for the T-shirts i would order one size under if you don't like em too lose.

Been using Strauss trousers (pants) for years. I bought my first pair of the motions when they first came out and they are still going strong. The knees have codura panels and that stuff is bomb proof. When u read all the brand names and trademarks listed in workwear and the super properties they have, well I usually take it with a pinch of salt but this is an exemption to that, it really works.
The only negative I can think of is that the angled phone pocket is a little short for the iphone 5 and the phone tends to Pop out if u squat down even with the Velcro secured.
That said still a great pair of trousers

I put my order in last night. 180 euros for what I listed above plus 12 pairs of cloth gloves with grip palms. I have been quoted 99 euros for shipping, not including duties and fees. I am not to sure now, I might modify it but it's going to be a hard sell with the boss-lady at home.

h.gil - I am wondering if you ended up ordering the pants?

I just placed an order with their German store for one pair of trousers (34 EU) and they quoted me a shipping price of 61 EU.  Tough to swallow, and cold comfort considering I can't be certain if the pants are my size.

Does anyone know a better place to buy ES trousers for shipping to the US?

Hi all-

I'm about to order a pair of ES motions, and being in the US, I'm dealing with the complex calculation of... sizing conversions!  Anyone here have a good bead on what the US-EU size conversion is?  I've heard add 16, but if I go by measurements on the englebert site, it's more like 22.  I think.  I'm a 38 waist/32 length right now.

If anyone has any idea, or can point me in the right direction, I would surely appreciate it!

Maybe look on the uk site, not 100% sure  if our sizes are the same. Just that we usually by clothes in inches and the sizing chart has the equivalent next to it

Oh I have, I've been talking to a cust rep too.  I just wanted to see if anyone in the US had a pair and could suggest their sizing be on the money, or run small, that sort of thing.  Again the rule of thumb seems to be add 16, but when I do that it still seems small per their sizing chart.  Was looking for someone with some genuine experience I suppose.

I just bought a pair of Mascot Lerida pants. The Euro size equivalent of 38/32 is 82C54.

I got two of them pants.
You have to use your actual measurements on their chart, they do run a tad big as they have a elastic waist and the fit is roomy..
The fabric on them s thin, and the crotch wasn't reinforced so it busted open after a couple of months.

Now I am wearing Herock from Lee Valley, the fit is a good kind of snug (if you order 1 over), the fabric on them is thicker.

That's what I wanted to hear, if they ran big or not.  Worst case I can get a tailor to take them in some, I'll just order them large.  Thanks all.
