I've had the above sander since 2004 and recently I'm having some problems with the plug socket located in the end of the handle, If wiggle the plug in lead then it will work, but I don't like this idea.

I've just spent about an hour trying to track down the part number for this piece and can't come up with it, so, if anyone can help I'd really appreciate it.

I guess there is an upside to all this, while its out of action I'll have to but myself another sander.

Thank.

This is a serious issue.  You could have a bad cord, bad tool end socket or both.  The problem is if the cord is bad you could do damage to other tools that you use it with.

Waka, you can check all parts of Festool machines here in their online parts catalogue

Then choose Festool > Surface treatment > Random orbit sander > your model.

Make sure you get your model number right, there's 3 ETS 150/5's in there and the part you require has a different part number on all 3 of them.

been there
see other post burned out male and female junction
I was lucky the new femal plug is cheep but the 2 cords I trashed ....

You need a ROTEX RO 150 - you're not a complete without one  [big grin]

Just had delivered the small RTS 400Q-Plus palm sander, nice little machine, I'll have to save up for the Rotex.

Thanks for the help guys.

A quick phone call to Festool and 24 hours later the new socket arrives, machine is now back to full working order.
