ETS EC 125 with net sanding discs question.

Hey everyone,

I'd like to try some net style sanding discs on my ETS EC125/3.  Can someone confirm that in order to use those, I need to buy the Protection pad PP-STF D125/2 (item # 203344)?

Yes you should use the protection pad although it will work without it.

The reason is that the net abrasives are thin and the spaces in the net allow the hooks on the sander pad to get damaged by the heat and friction generated when sanding. The protection pad prevents that and is a lot cheaper that replacing the sander pad.

Just to add to Ron's comment, I think you'll find once you put the protective pad on, you won't need to take it off, even if mixing net with traditional sandpaper.
