Is there anyone who has experienced problem with the ETS EC sanders (150/3, 150/5 etc)?  I purchased one 3 months ago, and after just a few uses, it would act as though the motor was "stalling", sometimes slowing down, other times turning off completely.  I'd need to hit the power button to turn it on.  Since it was so new, I returned it to the store and they just gave me a new one.  I've had the new one for about 2-3 months, used it a few times, and the other day, the exact same thing.  Wanted to know if this is something related to how I'm using the sander (i.e. too much pressure) or whether others have experienced this.

I am having this exact same issue with my new ETS EC 150/5. Festool says it is a known issue with their EC sanders.

Thanks binettea.  did you receive any notice from Festool about this, or did you find out only after contacting them?

[member=75440]16wooddoc[/member] when I got my unit it actually had a severe vibration issue, so that is what I was most concerned about. It was also stopping, but I thought it was related to the high vibration (like some kind of protection). But when I talked to Festool about it, that’s when they told me about the stopping/stalling issue. I finally decided to send it back to the vendor (which ended up costing me shipping for a defective tool, annoying). They are sending me a replacement unit that they briefly tested for me and that seems fine. So I’m hoping I am getting a normal tool, smooth and no stopping. Else I will have to send to Festool for repair and wait months...

Glad you are getting a new sander, but for future reference, service, if needed in North America does not take months.  Obviously parts availability can come into play.
