I'd love for this sander to be produced.  It'd be perfect for face frames.  I use the RO90 right now, but it gets fatiguing using it one-handed while holding/moving the face frame with the other.  The bigger sanders are harder to keep flat on 1"~2" wide stock.

That would be great for lathe work, bowls especially, as well. i agree about the ro 90 love it but would like to have the 3" size in an easier to manage sander.

Since we're on the topic of wishing, Id love for Festool to stop designing the same sanders with non-interchangeable pad sizes so we have to go back and forth with which one to go with. They should make a ETS EC in 3mm stroke and 5mm stroke and then sell all available pads in 90-150mm and any other size they come up with. There is no reason we should have to buy another sander just to use a different sized pad other than for them to make even more money.

Metabo has the 80mm-ish sander with the tool body about the size of the old Festool DX93.
Nowhere as much power as a RO90 though...

For face frames you could consider the RTS 400. I have used it for exactly that and it is really good as you can get square up into any corners and even do the top and bottom sides of the rails between drawers.
