Anyone have any idea why my ETS125 has stop spinning? It does turn on the CT26 but will not spin. I have removed the pad and cleaned and blew any dust I could see. Also removed the top and blew out the electronics. It started getting hot to the touch this morning then it just quit.
Thanks,
JC

Motor burned out.
I was hoping that was not the case. Probably not worth getting it repaired. First Festool in the garbage. Time to go shopping.
Thanks Alex.

Have you called our applications team? I'd give them a ring. 1-888-337-8600

Because the ETS 125 is random orbit instead of rotary, it doesn't spin to do the sanding. It should slowly spin as the orbit is working. Does it still appear to be sanding but just isn't spinning, or is it not working at all?

Hi Tyler,When I turn it on, it doesn't spin at all. The CT26 turns on but nothing else. Now if I leave sit for an hour it starts to turn slowly. As I am pass my 3 years and I needed one right now, I just bought another one so I could keep going on my project.

I will probably one day send it in, but being passed it 3 year period, I went out and bought another one as I needed it today for a project. I didn't get the new version due to cost. At $615.85 it's a little too pricy. The ETS125 was only $310.00.
Cheers,
Did you try the Jakeman's yet?

When it's getting hot to the touch it is much more serious than the brushes. The sander gets hot because it is vibrating in place instead of spinning, and the fan can't cool now. When the brushes are worn the sander just doesn't do anything and draws no power anymore. When the motor is burned it can still draw power but because some wires in the coil have melted it does not create the full magnetic field that makes the motor spin.

It can be fixed by replacing the stator or the rotor, which one of the two is broken. It is an expensive repair, somewhere around $150 at least.

Thanks again Alex. With the sander being over it's 3 year warranty I found it cheaper to buy a new one, then to pay for shipping both ways and pay for a repair. So, I bought a new one and I am now able to complete my project, if I don't melt first due to the extreme heat and humidity.
Cheers,

I haven't, my wife has. I know it's really good because she didn't like it, tasted to "mapley".

I have the same problem,  sent mine in a couple of times and was told that it the way it supposed to work.  I finally gave up and use my old Makita.
