Getting ready to start building shop cabinets,  What is the preferred full overlay euro hinge for basic shop cabinets and also cheap source.  Can they be acquired at Mcfeeley's, if so which.  This is all new to me.  Will be attempting to use LR32 system.

Probably any one of the well known brands will be good.  I have not used anything  other than Blum  so I can't  give a comparison. I tried them when I first did euro hinges, I liked them,  so I have never bothered trying others with the exception of a couple  replacement/ repairs on existing cabinets.  I have found some pretty big price differences around the internet.  So far this is the best I have found on price http://ahturf.com/store/index.php?route=product/category&path=3279_3280_25866 . I havn't done a lot of shopping around and I don't buy large quantities.

If you go with Blum , get one of their hinge catalogs. Lots of useful info  plus all the charts, opening angle diagrams for each type of hinge. It really helps to get an idea of what to choose when you can view them all and see what applications they will work for.  Having all the model numbers and actual type names available is good too.  I find that  many places refer to the different types  by other more common  usage names and that can become confusing when ordering. The catalog is also useful to see which bases and add ons will work with which hinges.

A quick search .....    looks likes McFeely's carries Grass but not Blum. I don't know anything about  the Grass hinges. My guess is that they are very similar and probably good?

I don't anything expensive, they're only shop cabinets in my garage.  I looked at the Blum and for 50 hinges and 50 plates its about $100.  I already have the drawer slides coming from gliderite  15 pair- 14" and 20 pair- 22".  Thinking about getting some 24" slides then I could put 2 systainer to a shelf in my base cabinets.

Like I said I have no usage experience  of less costly hinges (or any others) to compare.  I don't know how much less than $100  for 50 you will be able to find?  Also when shopping be sure to get three way adjustment it really makes it so much easier to get them tweaked into position and working well. I really like the ones that do not require loosening screws to make the adjustment.... just turn the proper screw to move it in the direction you want.

Salice (inventor of the euro hinge) and Hettich hinges are also high quality hinges.

Hi

I always get my Euro hinges at IKEA. They come in packs of 2 and 3. There is also dampers to put on the hinges to make them "softclosing".

I've been using Grass hinges for a while now.  No problems with them.  I buy them from my local mom-n-pops store.  $2 for the hinge and $1 for the hinge plate.  I use them in the LR32 video's I did.

Years ago, I put together a Ikea kitchen. The Blum hinges that came with the cabinets were good.

I never came across a crappy hinge.  Even the ones at Lowe's and Home Depot have worked well for me.

Check Ebay,  you may get a good deal off Ebay.  I just bought 20  350mm full extension drawer slides for the Sysports I'm building for $5.50 a pair.

I would go with BLUM
We had some problem with the full overlay Grass hinges
Salice is ok but I don't know if they make "compact" style hinges.I think they are all clip on.

+1 Blum- for all the reasons Seth said....

I do Bathrooms so see lots of vanities. I've seen heaps of rubbish euro hinges and poor fitting doors.... BUT never a fault (quality issue) with a Blum hinge...
They just work at a reasonable cost.
Definitely get the three way adjustable type for your first install. (Most forgiving)

Poor quality hinges can not be "fixed"- bin them. Get Blum to begin with.....

Seth, I was looking at these: http://ahturf.com/store/index.php?route=product/product&path=3279_256_269_684&product_id=6143.  I'm thinking these are correct for my application, maybe?

Panel cabinet or face frame? That hinge will work for either just need to pick the correct mounting plate. I really like the cam style mounting plates because you just need to turn the adjustment screw for up/down rather than having to loosen the attachment screws and slide , then retighten.

For the life of me I can't remember the difference between Clip  and Clip Top?

Personally I'd want a little wider opening  120 degree (unless the door will hit an adjacent wall).  Easier for arm space when getting things in / out especially larger boxes. And if you leave the door open temporarily it won't stick out into the path way as much.  I have  done combos say 120 on one cabinet door and 100s on the opposite door against a wall.

My vote for Blum and A&H Turf as well. I've had nothing but great service from them and have ordered a ton from them!

That hinge should be fine... The clip top feature is nice and convenient for say taking the doors off quickly for transportation or site cabinet fitting. Once you've used them once or twice you'll never look back...

Clip Top = spiral screw depth adjustment.

Clip =  loosen screw, adjust retighten.
