Plasticam...Mine is on it's way from amazon.fr..not sure what you are converting, but I am also ordering a replacement plug in for an of1400 from festool....I think they are about 10 bucks...looking at my sander, it appears the opening where the cord comes out is about the same size as the tool end plug it socket on my other tools....I was told that the of1400 router has long leads so hopefully it works for my rs2 sander....I've seen other folks do this mod, may require some jb weld to hold it in, or to make a form depending on the size of the strain relief setup on whatever tool you want to convert. Just a thought, and lots cheaper!

Hey Greg thanks for the reply,  I actually ordered the plug from Amazon France 🇫🇷 Yesterday,  my French wife helped me out a bit  [big grin]
    I’m  converting a Mafell mt55  and I’m really  tired of the cord management between these tools,  even though I have multiple CT 36s
 
Hi. Your very welcome, and glad your wife could help you thru it...took me a while to figure out that if I right clicked on the side of the screens google translated for me...otherwise I couldn't remember enough of my 8th grade french to get by..mind you that was 45 years ago now...lol Hope it works out for you, and remember you can also order the repair part for much less from Festool but that means potentially a bit more fiddling about depending on the strain relief/setup of what you are converting.

If you use Google Chrome is has a feature that allows you to translate the page.  I use it all the time and save the page as a pdf for woodworking articles in other languages.

For Firefox (and offsprings) there is the "Google™ Translator" addon, works nicely.
 
Sometimes there are listings on Amazon.  I found one listed and ordered it.  It shipped from somewhere in Europe and took about a month to get here.

I'm not sure about other territories, but although it seemed to have disappeared from sale for a short time in the UK, it's definitely still available. I purchased two not very long ago.

Members in this thread have mentioned buying from Amazon.fr and they are still listed there, as well as on other Amazon sites.

I purchased 10 male end connectors and have converted my DeWalt track saw, Bosch and DeWalt sanders and a few other tools to these connectors.  I have a 16 foot cord on my Bosch 5 meter hose hooked to my, surprise, Rigid shop vac (pulling through a dust deputy).  To plug the Domino to this, I have been planning to just cut the Festool cord and put one of these connectors on it and then leave the little pigtail on the tool.  But I could make up an adapter if I put one of these conversions, possibly. 

If I want the female connector, like at the end of the power cord, is there one of these converters for that?

Never any issues with disconnections? Better than a standard plug/extension cord?

Not sure exactly what youre looking for. You mean something like these (LINK or LINK)? Search for IEC connector and you should see all kinds of different types of cord and connector options for that connection. Its a very common and standard connector, BUT it does not lock and that might become an issue for our application.

Perhaps some sort of locked connector would be better. Something like these: LINK, LINK, LINK

You can also get them in Festool green link    [smile]
Those are much tighter than regular two-prong plugs and will not disconnect. I actually like them more than Neutrik as they are compact and lack moving parts.
 
I think it’s a cool idea. Are the power cords pretty flexible? I feel like those computer cords are usually pretty stiff.
 
I have a non-locking cord velcro connected to the shop vac hose right now and it has not disconnected when I didn't want it to.  But I also have a cord with this connector:https://www.amazon.com/Rewireable-I...coding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=13YAJ13YAS6X4KCE1TFQ

I bought another connector and might put it on the Festool cord after I cut it and install the male connector to the stubby cord.  But I am still interested in making up a stubby cord with the female end of a Festool cord and the male end of a computer cord so I can leave my existing cord alone.  If I can buy the female end of the Festool cord.

The two cords I've purchased were just the long ones from the link in my first post - Amazon basic cords.  They seem like regular, fairly sturdy extension cords to me.  Not very stiff.  I think there are ones with a locking end but I don't know how they work.  The separate female end I posted a link too requires you to pull on the red part to separate the cords.  It is a sturdy connection.  But the regular end is working fine at the moment. 

For those of you with mainly Festools the only advantage I see for you is you won't wear out the connector on the tool if you modify it to a stubby cord and use these connectors.  The advantage for me is I have mainly non-Festools and like having a cord velcro fastened to the hose that I can connect to all my tools.  I like the Festool idea/setup.  They have lots of good ideas - but their prices cause me to buy mostly other tools. 

It's off subject but I bought the Festool multi-tool plunge base and stop and use it on my Fein multi-tool.  Trying to get Festool advantages without the price.  But there is no alternative to the Domino. 
 
I put one of the computer power cord connectors on my Domino XL last night.  I've been busy on a crib but am waiting on the finish so I had time to do a little shop work.  Works fine.  When I cut the Festool power cord I found the covering to be a bit softer than the half dozen other cords I've modified and the interior rope to be more generous.  Otherwise, it was a normal 16 gauge power cord.  Now my Domino has the same connectors as my Bosch and DeWalt tools.
