Ex/Germans living in the US

So I'm curious, who are these FOG members that are German (ex German's) and live in the US....?

I'm one of those who came here on a temporary basis and ultimately immigrated...

Probably not for the purpose of this thread and the fact that going back that far a major portion of the US would qualify.... I can go back 150 years in my family tree and there were several immigration waves to the US. I am just the last in a long line....

More interested in first/second generation so to speak....

Conceived in Germany. I'm first Generation on my mothers side who is from Germany. If I had acquired my festools tools in Germany I would never move the the US and have to replace my festool collection. But since I grew up here and acquired them here, I guess I can't move to Germany.  [big grin]

Born here in the states - I am second generation on my father's side, third generation on my mother's side. Father came here in 1930, Mother born here in 1913 to German parents.
