I was trimming the bottoms of a bunch of old doors the other day with my ts 55 and hit a staple in the second door. It was a small staple and the blade went right through it without any problems. I was a little worried about what else I might run into, but plowed ahead with the job.

After finishing the doors, I noticed that there must have been another staple in one of the doors, because, stuck to the wall in front of me was a hardly damaged staple with both points embedded about 1/8" into the drywall. Wish I'd taken a photo.

Another good reason for safety glasses.

I went through a #10 or 12 wood screw the other day. Nice, clean cut, about 1/16" of shaft left on the head. So I balanced it on one of my shop mates' pieces to look like I'd driven a screw into it.

Carbide is all intact, saw still runs great... but not something I plan on doing regularly.
