Hi,

Any experience with 3mm real wood edgebanding? Here is an example:

They are generally laminated together from veneer, which makes it more flexible than 3mm strips. Can I use this instead of hardwood edge banding and apply with wood glue and clamps? I use hardwood edgebanding from time to time but the milling is always a longer process. So my comparison is hardwood edge banding ripped at the table saw.

I have used it a lot over the years, but only on proper edgebanders. The flex makes it great for storage and the roll formfactor works in the machines. It may be a little tougher to deal with in a hand applied situation, but I guess that would depend on how you choose to adhere it.
Simple contact adhesive works fine, but not the best for a home shop. Wood glue works too, but it is slower and clamping is more of an issue.
I have never seen the 3mm stuff with pre-applied glue, which is heat-activated.
