Can anyone tell me if there is any major difference between Extended and Original wood glues besides the fact that the Open and Closed times are different?  I bought some Titebond Extended wood glue and I've been using it for a while.  I Like it, it holds up well.  What I'm really getting at, because the properties of the extended glue is different to allow it to have a longer closed and open time, does it have any effect on how strong the glue is when it drys?  Maybe it's not as strong overtime?  I'm assuming that it is the same as original wood glue except it only has one difference which is the open and closed time?

Is there any con to continually use extended wood glue?  If your someone like me who enjoys having the extra time to get your assembly just right without worrying about the glue setting up, you like to use Extended glue.

The main issue I'm aware of is that the shelf life of the extended open time Titebond is only 6 months vs 12 months with the other modern Aliphatic resin emulsion/PVA type adhesives.  Based on my reading, there's not a lot of difference in these glues that the everyday Joe is going to experience related to strength.  The wood fibers will fail with all of these glues before the glue joint unless you're infected with severe a case of Gapsosis. ;D
